NABA in collaboration with IHS Markit welcome members to attend the North African Outlook with leading expert Firas Modad, Director, Middle East & North Africa. The meeting will take place at the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) on Wednesday 16th of August from 13:00 – 14:00.
Firas has over ten years’ experience as an analyst, forecaster and consultant on the MENA region. His expertise includes Middle Eastern economics and Islamic finance. He focuses on the proxy conflict between Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran, as well as Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Egypt. Firas also specializes in understanding Islamist militant groups.
Firas has briefed executives and directors in insurance the insurance and energy sectors, as well as C-level executives at blue chip firms with interests and operations in MENA. He has helped clients understand the rise of the Islamic State, the key drivers of the conflict between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia and Iran, and the likely evolution of these conflicts and the ensuing risks. Firas also makes regular appearances on the media, and has been interviewed by Reuters, Bloomberg, the BBC, CNN, ABC News, Newsweek and others.
Firas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, and a Master of Science in International Management for the Middle East and North Africa from the University of London.
