23rd of February: NABA members met with the Norwegian Parliament’s All-Party Africa Group today. The Parliament Group was formally established in May last year, and NABA serves as secretariat together with the Norwegian Council on Africa.
Private sector development in African countries, as well as the need for job creation, was the main focus of today’s meeting. Members of Parliament were given an update on the African economic outlook and Norwegian business development in African countries by Mr. Eivind Fjeldstad, Managing Director of NABA. Mr. Marius Koestler, Chief Operating Officer of the ICT company Laboremus presented how the company has established their business in Kampala, Uganda. Mr Kjell Roland, CEO of Norfund, gave his reflections on how he sees the current development in African countries from where Norfund is present. The All-Party Africa Group is Chaired by Mr. Kjell Ingolf Ropstad from the Christian Democrats (KrF) and has members from all parties of the Parliament.
