Marit Iren Ølstad has a MAc in Environmental and Resource Management from Vrije University in Amsterdam (VU), focusing on energy and climate, and a BA in International Marketing from BI Norwegian Business School (BI), Norway, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTLU), China, and University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Ms. Ølstad initiated her professional career in Newcastle working for Molekula, a chemical company selling chemicals to the B2B market.
