Job opening at NABA: Administration Officer

The Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) is a bridge for growth between Norwegian/Nordic and African business communities. Currently we have 150 member companies from energy, technology, agribusiness, shipping, industry, tourism and real estate – all working to make better business in African markets. We organise more than 35 events and investment missions throughout the year; we advise our members; advocate for better business conditions and relations; and we facilitate the connections that makes it all possible. Our secretariat with two full-time positions is hosted by our co-founder the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) at Majorstuen in Oslo.

 

The Administration officer position include the responsibilities and duties to be:

    • responsible for the NABA annual budget and accounting
    • responsible for member relations and CRM-system
    • responsible for NABA logistics
    • select and implement a business software system for NABA
    • responsible for internal communication
    • main HR liaison for NABA team of professional volunteers
  • Be part of the steering committee of our flagship event, the Nordic-African Business Summit
  • Be involved in the execution of NABA events

NABA is constantly evolving and work tasks will be continuously adapted to the needs of NABA

Qualifications

  • Master Business administration / Business Management or related fields
  • Relevant experience could outweigh the need for a master’s degree
  • Budget and accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken
  • A clear advantage with knowledge of a Scandinavian language (though this is not an absolute necessity)

In addition it would be an asset with:

  • French
  • Interest in and experience from Africa
  • Trade and investment experience

Personal qualities

  • Structured
  • Independent
  • Good team player
  • Ability to handle hectic periods of work, and meet demanding periods with a smile
  • Personal suitability will be emphasized
