Member of the month – February 2016: Bright Products
NABA Member Bright Products won the prestigious’ Norwegian Lighting Award 2015 with their product SunBell. SunBell was made to improve the quality of life for millions of people living around the world where there is no electricity, where the alternative is kerosene lamps or complete darkness.
The product has a smart, simple and sustainable design, is both a solar-powered LED lamp and phone charger, and can light up to one hundred hours.
The jury stated the following about why SunBell won the prize:
“SunBell gives light and dignity to those who need it the most, and is a brand with strong social and environmental qualities. The work of the designers in Bright Products and K8 Industrial testify a huge social commitment and a good understanding of the harsh reality of many people.”
