NABA attended Germany’s G20 Africa Summit
NABA and selected members were present when Chancellor Angela Merkel invited seven African heads of state and investors to take part in the G20 Africa Partnership conference in Berlin on 12th and 13th of June.
Germany has made Africa a top priority during its G20 Presidency this year – and the G20 Africa Summit focused on the new ”Compact with Africa” initiative where countries like Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Senegal, Rwanda, Tunisia, Ghana and Ethiopia so far are committed partners.
The main focus of the two days event in Berlin was a dialogue aiming to create more business friendly reforms – contributing to more investments and jobs. This initiative will be followed up by G20 also under Argentina’s presidency starting next year.Norwegian Minister of Finance Ms. Siv Jensen represented Norway at the meeting in Berlin and said in her statement that Norway will work closely with the two compact countries Tunisia and Ghana.
