Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: The First International Agri-Industry Investment Forum, 5th – 7th of October: His Excellency, Mr. Hailemariam Desalegn, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia will host the first International Agro-Industry Investment Forum in Addis Ababa. The event is co-organized by the Government of Ethiopia and UNIDO. The high-level investment forum will feature participants from the public and private sector, including representatives of the Ethiopian Government, current investors, international financial institutions, domestic enterprises, international organizations and industry associations. Lilongwe, Malawi: MALAWI INVESTMENT FORUM 2016, 10th and 11th of October: Norwegian State Secretary Ms. Laila Bokhari to address Malawi Investment Forum.
Malawi will hold its Second International Investment Forum on 10th and 11th October, 2016, at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, Malawi. Under the theme ‘Smart Partnerships for Private Sector-Led Industrialization,’ the Forum aims at developing new business opportunities with regional and international businesses in the following clusters:
Agriculture and Agro-processing;
Tourism and Services (focussing on ICT, Health, Education, Creative Arts);
Manufacturing;
Infrastructure (Transport, Water, Commercial and residential Real Estate, Industrial Estates);
Energy and Mining; and
Financial Services
Under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi, the Forum will host 500 private sector delegates from Malawi, Africa and the rest of the world. Bankable projects and business opportunities will be presented and discussed. Government is putting aside about 15 strategic public projects which it will announce for off-take at the forum.
