To be an interesting partner or to establish a project that will be investable for the DFIs, it can be beneficial for companies to know the strategy, criteria and what the DFIs are looking for. In this webinar you will meet the Nordic Development Finance Institutions IFU, Swedfund, Finnfund and Norfund and learn about their East Africa mandate.

  • Audrey is the Head of Health Investments and the Regional Office at Swedfund. She is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, managing the investment process, supporting portfolio companies to create value for their economies and working with various stakeholders in the health ecosystem. She is keen to work with innovative and sustainable private sector initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes in developing countries.

    She has extensive experience in sustainable finance, investment appraisal, business valuation, technical accounting, development impact and corporate governance having worked with several companies and boards in Africa and Asia.

    Prior to joining Swedfund, Audrey worked as a Senior Manager in the Transaction Advisory team at Deloitte East Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science) honours degree from the University of Nairobi, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and is a CFA Level III Candidate.

Investment Director, IFU

  • Njeri Mungai Ngaruiya is currently the Investment Director for Investment Fund for Developing Countries (“IFU”). She has 15 years of experience in private equity and investment banking in Sub Saharan Africa and the UK with primary specialization in financial institutions.

    She previously worked at Incofin Investment Management in the Africa office, focusing on making debt and equity investments within the micro-finance sector across the African continent. Prior to that, she worked at Imperial Azara and In Return Capital as a Senior Investment Manager and Investment Manager, respectively, where her role was to participate in the sourcing, processing and monitoring of investments in companies operating within East and West Africa.

    Njeri holds an MSc in Finance from Cass Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Surrey.
