NABA in brief

NABA was established by leading Norwegian investors/companies in 2012 with two main objectives:

Bridging experience

We serve as a platform for members who would like to learn from each other, share experiences, make new connections and inform about matters relevant to their operations in African markets.

Bridging knowledge

Our second mandate is to increase knowledge about African emerging markets in the Norwegian private sector, among policy makers and through media.

What we do

Business missions
We bring our members on business missions every year – as well as facilitating incoming visits from African delegations.

Nordic-African Business Summit
We host the annual Nordic-African Business Summit in Oslo, one of Northern Europe’s leading investor/business conferences focusing exclusively on African markets, gathering 250 delegates from over 35 countries every fall.

Strategic advisory services
NABA Sokoni offer strategic advisory services exclusively to our community, currently 150 member companies and partners from energy, shipping, technology, industry, agribusiness, consumer goods, real estate and tourism.

Networking and collaboration
Through our membership in the Brussels-based umbrella organisation the European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean (EBCAM) we are linked to more than 4000 European companies/investors doing business across the African continent.

Norwegian Parliament's All-Party Africa Group
In partnership with the Norwegian Council on Africa, NABA forms the secretariat of the Norwegian Parliament’s All-Party Africa Group. This group makes sure our MPs stay informed about challenges and opportunities in African countries, by organising briefing sessions and trips for the MPs. Read more →
