Lunch Session
Zambia Energy Lunch
Zambia’s energy sector is at an important juncture. The hydropower dependent country is experiencing a power crisis, driven by low water levels due to drought, stretching its electricity grid to the limit.
This has highlighted the urgent need to diversify Zambia's energy supply, with a strong emphasis on spurring the development of IPPs and renewable energy projects.
Despite the potential to generate 2,300MW of solar and 3,000MW of wind power, according to the International Energy Association (IEA), less than 80MW of solar has been installed to date, with no wind power having been developed - illustrating the potential for investment into the burgeoning sector.
The lunch will provide an opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, and to gain insight into the key trends driving Zambia’s evolving energy market through expert presentations.
