Fairtrade
Fairtrade International is the global body behind the FAIRTRADE Mark, working since 1997 to make trade fairer for producers in developing countries. A non-profit alliance of 22 member organisations, it partners with 1,824 producer groups across 68 countries, including cocoa, coffee, tea and cotton producers across Africa. Certification runs through the independent body FLOCERT. Fairtrade Premium payments have topped €1 billion over the past five years, and its child-labour prevention programme now supports twelve West African cocoa cooperatives.
