The Nordic-African Business Summit is organised by the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) in partnership with Norfund – the government’s investment fund, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has become one of Europe’s leading business and investor conferences focusing exclusively on the African continent.
For more than a decade, the Nordic‑African Business Summit has brought together leaders from business, government, finance and research to examine the forces shaping commercial cooperation between the Nordics and the African continent. Each year, the Summit highlights sectors where collaboration is both necessary and possible — where Nordic capabilities and African priorities intersect in practical, scalable ways - and is rooted in equal and sustainable partnerships.
In 2026, the Summit turns its attention to three areas that are rapidly redefining global value chains: energy, critical minerals and agri‑trade.
Energy remains at the centre of Africa’s development trajectory. With rising demand, expanding grids and new models for generation and storage, the continent is reshaping how energy is produced, financed and consumed. Nordic companies and institutions continue to play a role in technology development, system integration and long‑term partnerships.
Infrastructure is a key driver of economic growth and regional integration across both Africa and the Nordic region. As African economies expand and urbanise, demand for reliable transport, energy, digital and logistics infrastructure continues to grow. The Summit will explore how investment, technology and public-private partnerships can help deliver sustainable, resilient infrastructure while creating shared economic opportunities.
Agri‑trade is undergoing significant transformation, driven by changing production capabilities, new logistics corridors and a growing focus on direct sourcing from African producers to Nordic off-takers. With Africa’s agricultural potential and the Nordics’ experience in sustainable standards and digital solutions, this sector offers new avenues for commercial cooperation and innovation.
The 2026 Summit will bring these themes together, offering a platform for dialogue, practical insights and new partnerships. As always, the focus is on concrete business opportunities, long‑term collaboration and the evolving landscape of Nordic‑African economic engagement.
