NABA members present or planning to invest in Ghana are welcome to a Ghana lunch briefing at the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) on Thursday 19th of September from 12:00 – 13:00.

What is the outlook for government stability and operational risks in Ghana ahead of the December 2020 elections?

The presentation will be focusing on: internal dynamics in the NPP and NDC; the youth vote and rise of independent candidates, the NPP’s reform agenda and the broader integrity risk landscape.

Dr. Theophilus Acheampong

Senior Analyst

Theo specialises in analysing developments relevant to political and business risks in Sub-Saharan Africa. His research covers risk forecasts and analysis, including of war, terrorism, and political unrest, as well as the impact of business risks – tax, legal, operational – on industry sectors and companies.

Theo has a PhD in Petroleum Economics and an MSc in Petroleum Economics and Energy Finance, and has extensive knowledge and experience in strategic advisory, regulatory and commercial issues in oil and gas, energy and mining. Theo has worked as a petroleum economics consultant for the DFID-funded Ghana Oil and Gas for Inclusive Growth (GOGIG) programme, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Multi-Agency Petroleum Revenue Committee (MAPREC), all in Ghana. Theo has been a training facilitator for various Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and capacity building workshops in oil and gas. He also been responsible for delivering bespoke client solutions including assessing the gas-to-power market in West Africa (Ghana, Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire) and market entry for East Africa’s power sector among others. He has also delivered a series of public lectures on energy markets in Africa.
