Ms. Vera Songwe
Chair and Founder, Liquidity and Sustainability Facility
Ms. Vera Songwe is Chair and Founder of the Liquidity and Sustainability Facility, a financial mechanism designed to improve liquidity and reduce the cost of capital for emerging markets. She previously served as UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, and as Regional Director for West and Central Africa at the International Finance Corporation, following a career at the World Bank Group.
Ms. Songwe is a Cameroonian economist and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
