Eivind Fjeldstad

On leave of absence

Mr. Eivind Fjeldstad is the founder of the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) and served as CEO from 2011 - 2022. He is currently serving as embassy councellor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Abuja. He has an MA in African Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, focusing on governance and politics in Africa, and a BA in African Studies with a specialization in Human Geography from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

In 2016/17 Mr. Fjeldstad served as President of the European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean (EBCAM) – an Brussels-based umbrella organisation with ten like minded associations across Europe, together gathering 4000 European investors/companies working in and with Africa.

Prior to establishing NABA, Mr. Fjeldstad worked for 15 months as an advisor on Pemba/Zanzibar, Tanzania, observing the political development on the isles. He spent six months interning at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa, mainly working with the embassy’s election portfolio and business promotion. Mr. Fjeldstad has also carried out different voluntary work: he was Head of Finance for ISFiT 2005 (the International Student Festival in Trondheim), thus responsible for the festival’s fundraising and CSR activities. He headed the ISFiT Dialogue Groups 2007, and has also worked as a project coordinator for Dialogue Africa’s Horn of Africa initiative.
