Norway has launched its new strategy for engagement with Africa

On Monday August 19th, 2024, the Norwegian government launched its new strategy for engagement with African countries, the first major revamp of Norway’s approach to the continent since 2007.

Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide, and State Secretary for International Development, Bjørg Sandkjær, speaking at the launch of the new Africa strategy in Oslo on August 19th, 2024.

NABA was honoured to participate in the launch event, representing the perspectives of the business community - whose role is more important than ever in driving mutually beneficial investment, trade, and development between Norway and the continent.

The new strategy comes amid rapid and profound change in the global economic and political order, in which Africa is taking on an increasingly important role to international trade and investment.

We look forward to working with out partners to support the implementation of the strategy to drive the Norway-Africa business relationship.

A recording of the full launch event can be viewed here, and the strategy itself can be found here.
