The Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation
The Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (Norec) is an entity under the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. We are a centre of competence on international exchange. We finance exchanges of young professionals and volunteers between businesses, NGOs and state entities. The projects are in Norway and 25 countries in Asia, Latin- America and Africa, and is one of the tools of Norwegian Development policy, to give young professionals international work-experience and knowledge of agenda 2030.

A Message From the Board
As with the rest of the world, NABA’s modus operandi had to change overnight in mid-March. The pandemic has impacted our member community to various degrees. For some, relying on travel and tourism is still a very challenging time – while others have been less affected. For our African partners, the pandemic has brought detrimental economic setbacks, accelerated the use of digital tools – and the foreign direct investments into Africa have dropped by 18 percent in 2020.

Tschudi Group is a Norwegian family-owned company with roots back to 1883. The group builds on its three main commercial competencies; Shipping, Logistics and Offshore Services in order to create joint transport solutions. The group is represented in more than 12 countries, and last year, in the middle of the pandemic Tschudi Group opened their second office in Africa in Maputo, Mozambique. We have talked to Thomas Vestergaard, Managing director of Tschudi Mozambique regarding the companies business venture in Africa.

EcoPole
In 2011 Einar Haveland founded EcoPole and started the development process of environmentally friendly poles together with Norwegian investors with support from Innovation Norway and Norad. The idea and vision behind EcoPole were to create poles that did not cause deforestation while being durable enough to overcome the challenges of nature.

New Podcast: To the Point

The series provides a platform for honest debate about critical issues driving the policy, business and development landscape in Africa. The aim is to get to the point of the core challenges the continent faces, and identify tangible steps towards overcoming them.

Today, 1st of June, NHO and their Action Group on Business & development will present their policy document to Norway’s Minister of International Development, Dag Inge Ulstein. This will take place during NHO/Innovation Norway/Norad’s annual conference on internationalization and development.
