The Nordic-African Business Summit 2025

On the 8th and the 9th of October 2025, NABA organised the Nordic-African Business Summit 2025. The Business Summit has established itself as one of Europe’s leading business and investor conferences, dedicated to fostering strategic partnerships between the Nordics and the African continent.

NABA’s CEO Solveig Tangen wishes welcome to the Nordic-African Business Summit 2025 at the Grand Hotel in Oslo.

Held annually each autumn at the iconic Grand Hotel in Oslo, the summit brings together delegates from a wide range of sectors, including government, finance, industry and international development. Recognized as a high-level platform, the summit features participation from senior representatives of the Republic of Angola, including the Minister of State for Economic Coordination in Angola, H.E. Mr. José de Lima Massano.

This year, we decided to reduce the volume of roundtable discussions during the conference day to allow for more networking activities, while also organising bilateral programs for certain segments the day prior to the conference. Through a collaboration with Partnership For Change and Formue Kapitalforvaltning, NABA organised the first Private Capital Day on the 8th of October. This was an invitation-only event that sought to bridge the gap between Norwegian/Nordic family offices and African hedge fund managers. The event was hugely successful with more than 60 participants, and will be an annual event going forward.

In addition to the Private Capital Day and as per tradition, NABA organised three Investment Roundtables with the Ethiopian, South-African and Angolan Embassies in Oslo the day prior to the conference. Additionally, NABA assisted the Angolan Delegation and the Minister of State for Economic Coordination in Angola, H.E. Mr. José de Lima Massano in their bilateral programme the day before the summit.

The themes for this year’s Business Summit were focused on Agricultural Trade, Energy and Infrastructure. We organised in total 6 roundtable discussions, 11 company presentations, two plenary panel discussions in addition to the opening session where the Africa Editor at the Financial Times, Mr. David Pilling had a fireside chat with Mr. Tony Elumelu, the founder and chairman of Heirs Holdings.

A brand new introduction this year was the launch of our B2B meeting platform. This was a great success, as 139 delegates signed up to the platform and more than 341 meeting requests were sent through the platform with 114 formal meetings conducted during the conference day - which was the absolute full capacity of our meeting rooms set up. A total of 254 delegates with 24 different nationalities attended this year's conference. In addition, we had our largest volunteer team yet with a total of 26 volunteers from the African diaspora in Norway, exchange-students and the wider NABA community.

We look forward to the next NABA Summit in 2026!
