Corporate responsibility in Africa is entering a new chapter. The old model of once-off giving, compliance-driven CSI and detached donor-recipient relationships is no longer enough. Companies operating in Africa are increasingly expected to build partnerships that are locally grounded, measurable, accountable and aligned to long-term development priorities.
This roundtable will explore how businesses, foundations and international partners can move beyond traditional CSR and towards a shared-value model that creates real community impact while also supporting business, ESG and sustainability objectives. Using Balwin Foundation/Beyond Bricks Foundation as a practical South African case study, the discussion will focus on how responsible business can be translated into meaningful programmes across education and training, sport development, youth empowerment, community outreach and measurable social impact.
