Mr. Mohammed Dewji is a Tanzanian businessman, philanthropist, and former politician, serving as President and majority owner of MeTL Group, the conglomerate his father founded in the 1970s. Under his leadership, MeTL's revenues grew from $30 million to over $2 billion, with operations spanning 8 countries, 34,800+ employees, and ~3.3% of Tanzania's GDP. Forbes has ranked him among Africa's richest, and in 2016 he became the first Tanzanian to join the Giving Pledge. Through the Mo Dewji Foundation, he supports education, health, and community development across Tanzania.
