Ghana
Real GDP grew by 5.8% in 2024 and expanded by 6% in 2025, driven by services and agricultural recovery, with strong gold exports supporting a current account surplus, increased reserves, and a strengthened cedi. Ghana has achieved significant economic and social progress over three decades, attaining middle-income status in 2011, but pre-existing imbalances led to an acute crisis in 2022, and the country has since launched a comprehensive debt restructuring and secured an IMF recovery programme. Ghana is West Africa's most stable democracy and one of the continent's leading investment destinations, with a well-educated English-speaking workforce.
