Mozambique
Mozambique's economy is anchored by agriculture, services, and a growing extractives sector, and benefits from a 2,700 km Indian Ocean coastline, a strategic position serving six landlocked neighbours, and vast natural endowments including offshore gas reserves, mineral deposits, arable land, and hydropower potential. Inflation fell to around 4% in the first seven months of 2025, aided by improved cross-border trade with South Africa, which lowered food prices and allowed a gradual easing of monetary policy. The medium-term outlook is supported by large offshore liquefied natural gas developments and the Coral South gas project, alongside expanding transport-corridor and urban-development investment.
