Namibia

Namibia's economy grew by 2.8% in 2025, supported by construction, transport, financial services, and mining (excluding diamonds), with inflation easing to 3.5%. Following the November 2024 elections, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah took office in March 2025 as Namibia's first female president, with government priorities focused on fiscal discipline, service delivery, job creation, and economic transformation under National Development Plan 6, launched in July 2025. The World Bank's current strategy prioritises private-sector investment in housing, digital, renewable energy, and agribusiness. Backed by a credible currency peg, a solid financial sector, and strong mineral endowments, Namibia is positioning itself as a regional hub for green industrialisation.
